These are the ideas from Deliverable 1 that I wanted to keep in mind while going through deliverable 3:
Working from the Elevator pitch I created in Deliverable 1, I knew I wanted to create a farmer character so I looked at my mood board and started thinking of ideas for a simple character in class:
It’s fairly generic but it’s iconographic of farmers which lets off the theme of the rest of the game. I wasn’t totally happy about the character silhouette for the character on the left as it felt very vague. On the left you can see I liked the idea of using rounded triangles (cones?) in the design, which leant to the idea of giving her pigtails for a more interesting silhouette. I figured it would also be nice secondary movement in the final animated character sprite. During the Animation process, the design goes through different alterations to experiment with different clothes and colours.
