Camera Angles and Shot types:
- Integral to cinematic language, establishes Perspective and Emotion
- Engages the audience by directing attention and context (understanding)
Shot sizes-
- Close up- frames the subject’s face and draws attention to expression or features
- Extreme CU- Even closer, e.g. eyes and nose = more intimate
- Medium shot- Around half of the boy and is useful when it comes to body language (movement isn’t necessary)
- Extreme Long shot- At a distance to the subject, establishes setting and environment
Camera Angles-
- Eye level- Most basic
- Low angle- Looks up to the subject = stronger and intimidating
- High angle- Looks down at the subject= small and weaker
- Dutch Angle (Tilted shot)- It creates tension, discomfort, indicates something is off
