Color Theory
- Linked to the idea of color psychology → affects mood, emotion , and behavior
- This can be influenced by individual differences due to different cultural backgrounds and interpretation.
- In short, dominant color of the scene is the one that will get the attention of the viewer- however, composition, tint and other colors in the scene also play a role
- 60-30-10 rule:
- 60% is the dominant color that sets the overall tone and serves as a backdrop for the main image- often a more neutral color
- 30% is a secondary color that compliments the dominant and accent color and adds a visual balance. - This is often used for furniture, accent walls or secondary design element
- 10% is compromised of the accent color. It’s used sparingly to draw attention to certain elements in the scene- often applied to accessories, small décor, or other minor design elements.
