After the main narrative was created, I used the final ‘character development’ mind map to begin brainstorming the visual style I wanted to use for this project
This was a mini mindmap I created at the start of narrative development to make a note later on in production.
Using the flowcharts, I determined how many backgrounds I needed and created a min map of sorts to help visualise each one later when painting. These were used as reference pictures that would help with perspective, composition and colour schemes. These were compiled into a Pinterest board and then mixed with external sources into a single corresponding page.
The first two sketches was the initial art style I was going to go for but then i thought the more cartoon-y, simple style I sketched below fit the tone of the story more.
This page of sketches was made following the character mind map. Instead of character turn arounds I just drew what I needed. This also allowed me to explore outfits and making them more dynamic as characters.
